Disolve Stress thru Oneness Meditation and Insomnia Release thru Oneness Meditation

Stress and insomnia are epidemics which are caused by the “monkey mind” that does not stop the noise in our heads – endlessly cycling - keeping you from reaching a calm state while awake or when trying to fall asleep. Come for the Key to the scientific approach to meditation proven to focus your mind on this present moment and peace. When your mind is serene internally and the noise chatter dissolves, you’re able to come up with creative solutions to everyday problems, relax fully and rest deeply.

Round out the evening after Mahjong with a centering meditation exercise!

Drop in’s welcome!

Liberate yourself from the grip of the Monkey Mind!

Leaders: Amy Huggins and Alix Clarke, both certified by Ekam (World Centre for Enlightenment) as Oneness Meditation Trainers, who have studied in India and lead Vashon’s weekly OM Center at the Methodist Church each Monday at 5 – 6 p.m.

Amy Huggins has lived on Vashon since 1993, and taught yoga here since 1999. She currently teaches yoga three times/week at Vashon Athletic Club, is a mother, Unitarian Universalist, Rotarian, and loves reading.

Alix Clarke has thought of Vashon as home since 1965, being a “kind-of-third-generation-Vashonite” (ask her :-) She has been an educator teaching all over the world at international schools, and presently teaches Roots of Empathy in West Seattle once a week. Alix moved to live here full-time in 2009. Meditation; yoga; connecting with her best friend of 40 years (and new husband), Jim; Vashon Island Unitarian Universalists; and one dog & two kitties fill her heart and raise her consciousness… which is right where she wants to be.
